With everyone feeling the same way and not knowing which way to turn I wanted to express to all of you what we are doing as an essential working class. 2020 has created a real estate market to the likes of which we have never seen before. First of all, I want to say that it may be confusing to think of real estate agents as essential but the truth is everyone needs housing and timing can be everything. While some of the market is not as essential as others it all serves its purpose in keeping the economy alive and people earning money.

I know there is a school of thought that “wanting to make money” is evil and that all time should be spent stopping the curve. The truth is with the new digital world we can do both successfully and pay this massive debt our country is incurring at the same time. From its inception Movementum Realty was built as a remote based digital brokerage. From team meetings on virtual video conference calls to document signing digitally through Dotloop we have been on the forefront of a safe and distant transaction. As an essential business all of our staff has been allowed to stay home and work remotely. Upon them going home our office was disinfected from top to bottom and now serves as a safe place to host a closing.

As an essential business to both the individual life and the national/global economy it is more important ever that we react appropriately. Since Covid-19 has struck I have been monitoring how to keep our transactions closing and our client’s funds safe. Having a full time Information Technologies Director has allowed us to make things happen that are not happening on the regular in transactions up until now. We have even performed video final walk throughs and remote closings to ensure the clients are finding success in their transaction.

No matter what direction you look in the real estate industry the professionals involved have learned ways to make the transaction work remotely. The registries mostly now have the capability to allow for E-filing online which means we can still close without going to the registry. Real estate attorneys are now performing drive through closings, mail closings, virtual closings, power of attorney closings, and many other creative methods. Where there is a will there’s a way and Movementum and other industry professionals are ready to help.

While working with us we will work to minimize your exposure as a client from social distancing to making sure to clean as we go. We are working to keep you safe. All of our agents and staff are very socially conscious and can help you get the process started through.

For buyers going to virtual video meetings and showings only meeting in person for a further look at a place that may be the one. For sellers doing a Facetime or Zoom call to set up the pricing strategy, creating floor plans and great virtual tours, limiting guests in the home and requiring the agent to clean as they go, no open houses till further notice, and many other precautions.

The main point I wanted to get across to everyone is we are here and ready to help those who would like to buy or sell a home.
